City Connect 50 is a new service linking Manchester and Salford that has replaced the Salford Quayslink service.
City Connect 50 is an extension of the existing 50 service from East Didsbury to Manchester city centre. It now additionally serves Salford Central train station, Chapel Street, the University of Salford, Salford Crescent, Salford Shopping Centre and terminates at Salford Quays, near to our MediaCityUK campus.
University of Salford students and staff can travel for free on the service between Adelphi Street and MediaCityUK on production of a valid University ID card.
The University is well served by numerous high frequency bus routes that predominantly stop along the A6/Crescent.
The 8, 36 and 37 run every 10 minutes between Manchester and Bolton, the 26 and 32 run every 30 minutes from Manchester to Leigh and Wigan respectively while the 100 travels to the Trafford Centre every half hour. For all bus route information including maps & timetables, click here.

To make getting around Manchester city centre easier, there are 3 FREE Metroshuttle services that link up the main rail stations, shopping and business areas of the city. The nearest calling point to the University is at Salford Central station, which is served by the Metroshuttle 3 service. For full information click here.
